You all know what a bad credit card is i presume, and that will be why you’re hear reading this post. But for those of you who don’t, a bad credit card is a credit card that you can get with a bad credit score. Yes, you can get credit cards with a bad credit score, it just depends on how bad your score is…

If you have outstanding debts and are not managing to make the payments on them then you are still unlikely to get a bad credit card to help you out. You really need to be at a point where your debts are paid and you are ready to rebuild your standing with the financial world. No-one will offer you more credit if you have yet to pay off any old debts.

The idea of getting the bad credit card is to rebuild, and when you get it you’ll realise that it isn’t like any other credit card you’ve had before; you know the ones that got you into this position in the first place! The bad credit card will not allow you to spend over your means and will insist upon you paying each month by simply putting an interest rate on your balance that would scare anyone into paying on time, every time. Should you mess it up, you’ll mess it up early and something can be done to stop the problem getting any worse since your credit limit will be very low. As you pay off more and more of your credit card the higher up your credit rating will go, and perhaps even your available credit limit.

You must however remember to be very careful with this credit card, just as you would if it were any other.

There is a way to build credit when you’ve paid off your debts. This is ironically in the form of another credit card; not something that you would think very helpful, but it certainly is…

You see the object is for a credit card company to see that you are capable of paying off your debts regularly and on time. When you fail to pay your payments on your credit card bill, your credit card company will lose faith in you and eventually you will not be able to obtain credit. The best way to build up your credit score when you have had a debt problem in the past is to get another credit card.

However, the credit card you need is not like the ones that got you into debt in the first place. They are credit cards that scare you so much with their astronomical interest rates that you dare not miss a payment. What’s more important than this is the fact that you also need to watch what you spend simply because if you spend over a certain amount, you may not be able to pay off your bill at the end of the month! Pay off your bill? I hear you ask.

Yes, this is very important, simply because if you don’t then the interest will absolutely crucify you, and following this, you shouldn’t really do it again.

All in all these high interest cards like Capital One’s Plus card are designed to help you by setting high interest levels and low credit card limits. These should almost train you to be good with credit again; and if you fail with one of these then you shouldn’t really have a card.

When you’ve had a bad financial history and things haven’t gone according to plan so far you may need to get a credit card that will help financial institutions to increase their confidence in providing you with a service. Having a Bad Credit Card can help you regain this trust and enable you to continue your life…

Let’s face it, we all need a good credit rating don’t we? We can’t get a mortgage, a loan, or a credit card because we can’t be trusted; and you can’t blame them can you? Unless there has been some dreadful error, it’s usually because you are actually terrible with money that they won’t trust you, never mind lend you £200,000 to buy a house.

Thankfully there are a few options open to you if this is the case. You could win the lottery and put an end to all your financial difficulties and create a few new ones, pay off your debt and wait years and years for your credit rating to improve, or you could get a credit card that allows you to show your potential creditors how well you can pay your debts.

There are many “Bad Credit Cards” out there today, and becaue you can spend money on them in much the same way as any other card, you are enabled to rebuild your credit history by paying off the outstanding balance every month.

So you’ve been unlucky in life, haven’t we all, and there is no way that a major credit card company will risk taking you on; right? Well it’s a familiar problem, but not one that can’t be solved, or alleviated at least…

You can get a credit card, even if you’ve had CCJ’s and other nasty things happening to you. The main difference of course will be the interest rate on these things. This is primarily to prevent you spending too much again and getting yourself into heavy debt. You maximum spending limits will be substantially lower and the payments will be made frequently without fail.

Capital one for example will offer you a credit card, and these are quite big players in the credit card business. You will typically have to meet certain requirements but it won’t be too severe and they often judge each application on an individual basis. You will need to be 18 or over, be a none bankrupt, be on the electoral roll, have a bank or building society account, and have at least some income; after all, who is going to give you a credit card if you have no income at all.

These cards are designed to give you the opportunity to rebuild your credit rating, and hopefully if they are used correctly they can help enormously. But again, as with anything on this website, it’s important to compare credit cards first.

Do you have bad credit problems? I’ve had bad credit problems in the past and i couldn’t get hold of a credit card if someone paid me to go in search of one. But you needn’t fear or worry too much, because our current financial climate has brought out some new people on the credit card scene…

These new folks are credit card companies that give credit cards to people who are, or have been in debt before. Now we’ve all been i a bit of trouble with money here and there haven’t we? But we are not all serial debt offenders. This is important to realise, and once someone has started to rebuild their credit rating and agreed payment plans with various companies, it is important to allow a small amount of credit back in their life; particularly in this day and age, when credit is like a social staus in many circles. You cannot get anything these days unless you already have a credit rating; good or bad.

Obviously it’s better to have a good rating, but if you don’t, you needn’t worry, because if you work with these new companies and get accepted for a credit card, it could be the best move you’ve ever made. It might not matter that you have defaulted on a credit card before, because if you pay off your new one and keep your spending under control then you are likely to be able to build your rating back up again. It isn’t really difficult to pay off these new “bad credit” cards, simply because they won’t give you huge limits to begin with; that’s half the reason everyone is in dent now.

Learning Ways to turn a Bad Credit into a Good one

As there are a million ways to consume a million dollars in just a week, there is also a multiplicity of ways to turn a good credit standing into a bad one. However, the situation is actually not as bad as it sounds. Even with a bad credit history, there is still an option which can be a catalyst for you to regain your good standing. How so? By applying for a bad credit credit card.

Bad credit cards refers to credit cards that one can obtain even with poor credit scores, bad credit histories and even worse credit ratings. Bad credit cards provide these people another chance to change and even improve their credit rating. As such, it actually serves its purpose as the last resort for people to clean up their credit histories. It also serves as a form of training for people who cannot control their extravagance and spending splurges, especially over incessant material possessions.

Bad credit cards require people to open an account with a certain credit card supplier and maintain a certain amount of cash in the said account. By depositing a certain amount, it gives the bank an assurance that this person really wants to change and be cleared of all the bad credit histories in the past. The credit limit of people with bad credit cards is usually fifty to one hundred percent of the said cash balance. So if your cash balance is $5000, then your credit limit may be around $2500 to $5000, depending on the bank’s rules with regards to such.

However, bad credit cards usually have high interest rates and late payment fees. For it to work to your advantage, you need to make sure that you always pay before the due date and maintain your spending below the credit limit. If your learn to keep it that way for the next consecutive month, the bank will start to increase your credit limit, improve your credit history and make your credit score go up. Eventually, you will be eligible for their special deals and can even avail a regular credit card in the process. That and so much more if you will learn to manage your expenses and stop the incessant splurges.

Most importantly, one needs to learn to research and check the credit plans from different banks in order to be informed about the difference in their interest rates and payment fees. One can also ask some financial advices online or otherwise so that one can be educated on how credit cards work. As such, one can have more options and will be able to choose among which can work better to suit one’s financial status.

All in all, having a bad credit card can be a start of a new life, if only one will learn how to make it work on a way that can help you turn your bad credit into a good one. You will only clear your credit history, but can also clean up your old habits of unnecessary splurges.
