Users of an ATM machine at a Tesco branch recently felt as though they won the lottery. It seems that a problem occurred with an ATM and the machine was giving out free cash. Anyone that was using the ATM for this brief period of time would insert their credit card and get back twice the amount of money that they asked for.

Egg announced they are launching a new credit card. Well, in actuality it is a re- launch of premium plastic cards with better rewards and benefits than they have offered in the last year. Egg Money World MasterCard is providing 1 percent cashback on all transactions. There is going to be a 1 pound a month charge.

Scotland Credit Card Debt Rises

The United Kingdom has been reporting that their credit card debts are beginning to lower, but this is not true of all areas. Scotland, unlike the rest of the UK, has been suffering from rising credit card debts. A recent study showed the average person in Scotland has credit card debt at £6600 when combined with other unsecured loans. This is up by over £1600 since April.

2010 to see Annual Fees Return on Credit Cards

In the past five years credit card companies slowly began to weed out the annual fees to make credit cards more accessible to the general population. A study was released on July 16, 2009 that states the annual fees may be returning to most credit cards in 2010. The Auriemma Consulting Group did a study about cards that do not have fees. They found that rewards will be taken away, and so will other basic benefits consumers have been enjoying.
