Student Credit Cards Uncovered

So you’re a student and you think you need a credit card?  Well do you really?  Of course you do, you’re only young once right?  And you like to go shopping for all the latest things right?  Yes of course…

However, you must remember that all the fun you have whilst you are young and enjoying your student days will have to be paid for eventually, and it could lead to years of having not so much fun; a big, big anti-climax man!  Just when you thought the world was a party you’ll find you’re no longer able to live in the city, you can’t go out as much with your friends, and you can’t buy the latest fashions and video games anymore.  And all this because you chose the wrong student credit card?  Yes, it is possible.  So be careful to compare credit cards before you sign on the dotted line.

Anyone can give in to temptation so it’s best not to get a credit card that offers you a spending limit that seems to be out of this world.  If you look at the limit and think: “oh my god!  I’m in heaven”  then it’s more than likely too much money for you to handle, and you will more than likely fail to meet your payments and your interest will just increase the amount you owe.  Pick a credit card that will give you a small amount to spend, and use it when you really have to, or at least when you’re pretty sure you’ll be able to make the payments.  Credit card companies are supposed to be a little more responsible about who they lend money to these days but there are still a few out there that will screw you!
